Oswald Spengler: 'Pessimism?'

Spengler's essay of 1922, after the publication of the second volume of his masterwork, Decline of the West (Der Untergang des Abendlandes), Spengler sought to justify his belief that the West was on an inevitable and intractable decline, and that the sophistication and advances in the arts and humanities were evidence of a regression in the 'spiritual' qualities (meant in the Hegelian, non-religious sense) of the West.

I'm working on some teaching material to introduce Spengler to the wider audience he deserves. Watch this space.
